Bienven00bz!!

In an unlikely turn of events, the four of us did in fact arrive on time at JFK to board our flight to Paris. Although we had a few minor mishaps, all was made right when we realized that:

SWISS AIR RULES!

No, seriously. Each seat had its own screen with multitudes of movies, tv shows and games. 8.5 hours was almost not long enough to watch everything. Not to mention the free, bountiful quantities of wine in plastic bottles that the flight attendants gave away at will.

Once we arrived in Paris, we successfully navigated all the way from Paris' Charles-de-Gaulle airport (which is not actually in Paris at all) to our hostel using the metro, where we were serenaded by an accordion playing bum.

Our hostel is St. Christopher's where there is a cheap bar named Belushi's full of other hip teens like us. Everyone was bummed we missed Mojito Magic Monday. There's even a trendy Chill Out Room downstairs which we will be frequenting. We live in an 8 person dorm with four other awesome folks, who we actually haven't met yet. But judging by the cheese they left on our table, we know they rock.

We walked around the Northeast end of the city with our friend Jack who is studying this term in Paris. Lunch of smoked salmon omelets, shrimp and chèvre on toast was a delicious intro to French cuisine.

Plans for tonight include meeting Jack's host family for drinks, dinner in the Latin Quarter and un petit pub crawl.

More updates to come. We miss you all.

... maybe we will make it through this after all.
