So Fond of La Fonda

The four of us hit the town in search of La Fonda- a cheap, yet delicious paella restaurant recommended to us by some fellow travelers from the US. We walked all the way down the famous market street, La Rambla, and finally found what seemed to be a really upscale restaurant. After verifying that seafood paella was in fact only 7 euro per person and jugs of sangria were equally as cheap, we headed inside for one of the best dinners we’ve enjoyed so far.

After dinner, our friend from Dartmouth, his girlfriend, and her sister met us at our hostel to show us around the city. We started off the night drinking cheap wine and sangria in a neighborhood park with a few other Dartmouth kids. Calby then led us around the city, finally stopping at Summum- a totally hip bar with shots for just 1 euro. More wandering (more than anyone wanted to do) led us to a club called Guru where we danced to terrible American tunes including Shania Twain’s smash hit, “Man I Feel Like a Woman”.

Tired but happy, we turned in for the night.
